The UL Standard has been updated to require replacement of smoke and CO alarms every 10 years. Every smoke, heat and CO alarm manufactured by MasterGuard or installed in a home by an Independent Authorized MasterGuard Dealership is now more than ten years old. Applied Fire Technologies can recommend suggested replacement products for old Masterguard smoke, heat & CO alarms which will constitute significant upgrades and reflect new cutting-edge technology. The manufacturer’s limited warranty on every Masterguard smoke, heat & CO alarm manufactured and installed prior to 2013 has now expired.
The former MasterGuard company ceased active business operations some years ago and is now being dissolved. Applied Fire Technologies, LLC, which is neither the successor of Masterguard nor otherwise required to perform any contractual or other legal obligations owed by Masterguard, nevertheless elected to acquire the Masterguard.com domain name in order to try and assist the owners of Masterguard-branded products, to the extent it is able to do so, in obtaining parts, service, upgrades, and products.
